Surfrasurfra
Your own machines

Put the GPU under your desk to work.

Install the runner on a machine you own, and it shows up as a row in any app's or job's priority list, right next to the clouds. Use it as the always-on base and let a cloud take the bursts.

Set up

One command per machine.

Linux or macOS

Installs the surfra command under ~/.surfra. On Linux, --gpu also sets up Docker and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit.

curl -fsSL https://surfra.io/runner.sh | sh -s -- --gpu

Windows

Run in PowerShell, then install Docker Desktop with the WSL 2 backend.

irm https://surfra.io/runner.ps1 | iex

Then run surfra login, surfra runner register, and surfra runner start. Runner guide

Behavior

It behaves like any other row.

One thing at a time

A runner takes one app or one job. Other apps that list it skip to their next row until it is free.

Safe to stop

Take the machine offline when you need the GPU back. Waiting requests move to the next row. A running job is not cut off by accident.

Updates itself when idle

A new release installs in place, and the runner switches over the next time nothing is running on it.

Survives restarts

If the runner restarts mid-job, it picks the job's container back up instead of starting the command again.

Pricing

Free for three months.

Your own machines are free for the first 3 months, then $2 per machine a month on the Free Forever plan. The Team plan includes 25.

FAQ

Common questions

What hardware works as a runner?

Any Linux, macOS, or Windows machine that runs Docker. With an NVIDIA GPU and the container toolkit, containers get the GPU. Macs run containers on the CPU.

Can my own GPU and a cloud GPU serve the same app?

Yes. Put the runner first and a cloud row after it. Surfra uses your machine while it is free and starts cloud replicas for the rest.

Run it on your own clouds.

Surfra is invite only while we test it. Tell us what you want to run and we will send an invite.
